A Letter From the President of the Yucaipa Iris Festival

In 2001 the Yucaipa Iris Festival began to educate our community of the City Flower, the Iris.  The Iris Festival is the perfect family outing, with enjoyable activities for young, old and everywhere in between. Entrance and parking is free. The main attraction each year is the beautiful Flower Show located in Yucaipa’s new Community Center.  It features the Iris -- the city flower -- and many other beautiful blooms.

Educational Demonstrations will be in the Community Center Banquet Room on Saturday, May 18th & Sunday, May 19. Saturday will host a Tree Maintenance and Guideline, Iris Identification, and a Floral Design demonstration. On Sunday, education will be on Water Tolerant Plants, their maintenance, garden landscape, and the latest in watering systems.

We are proud to host, Escape-The National Journey Experience on Saturday, May 18th beginning at 7pm

The Yucaipa Iris Festival has more than 80 outside vendors filling the fairway. Live entertainment in the outdoor amphitheater fills the air all weekend long.

The Kids' Fun Zone will be open for children of all ages throughout the weekend and will feature a video game trailer with XBOX 360, Wii, and PS3, a foam frame activity, a caterpillar activity and storybook time, bounce houses, obstacle courses, a train, a new remote control track, an Iris drawing contest, pie baking contest and entertainment to keep the younger attendees happy.

The Home & Garden Expo will be showcased in the west area of the park all weekend long. We are excited to add this year to our Car Show, a Hillbilly Chili Cook-Off.

All I can say is you will not want to miss this years Festival. I hope to see you there!
